Privacy Policy

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, password (encrypted), preferred language
• Profile and shop information: profile photo, shop name, description, address, reviews left or received
• Seller verification documents: ID document (front/back) and verification selfie — sensitive data handled with heightened care
• Posted content: listings, product photos, messages exchanged with other users
• Payment information: chosen payment method (Mobile Money or card) — full payment credentials are handled by our payment provider, never stored by Bizmboa
• Usage data (only with your explicit consent): pages viewed, searches performed, products viewed or favorited, interactions with sellers — collected via PostHog, a third-party analytics tool
• Technical data: device identifier, operating system, push notification token

• Create and manage your account, and authenticate you
• Review and approve Seller verification requests (verification documents)
• Facilitate connections between buyers and sellers and order handling
• Process Premium subscription payments
• Send you notifications about your account, orders, or messages
• Improve the app using aggregated, anonymized usage data (only if you have given consent)
• Prevent fraud and keep the platform secure

We never sell your personal data. We only share it with:

• Cloudinary, our image and document hosting provider, to store your product photos and verification documents
• Anthropic, an artificial intelligence provider, only when you use the "Generate with AI" feature while publishing a listing — the photos you select are analyzed to suggest a title, description, category, and price, and are not retained by this provider beyond that analysis
• PostHog, our usage-analytics provider, only for users who have consented to usage data collection
• Our payment provider, to process Mobile Money and card subscription payments
• Relevant authorities, where legally required or to protect our rights and those of our users

Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Identity verification documents are retained for as long as needed for verification and applicable legal obligations, then securely deleted or archived.

If you delete your account, some data may be retained for a limited period for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

You can, at any time:

• Access your personal data and request a copy
• Correct inaccurate information from your profile
• Withdraw consent to usage data collection, at any time, from Settings → Usage data
• Delete your account and data yourself, directly from the app (Settings → Delete my account) — including if you signed up via Google, Facebook, or Apple. If you no longer have access to the app (for example after removing Bizmboa's access from your Google, Facebook, or Apple account settings), you can request the same deletion by emailing support@bizmboa.com from the email address linked to your account; we process these requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations

Your login credentials are encrypted at rest. Communications between the app and our servers are secured. Access to identity verification documents is strictly limited to the team responsible for reviewing applications.

The mobile app doesn't use cookies in the web sense, but stores some information locally on your device (language preference, login session) to function correctly.

Usage data collection via PostHog is entirely disabled by default and only enabled after your explicit consent, requested the first time you use the app. You can change this choice at any time in Settings.

The app is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.

We may modify this privacy policy. Any material change will be notified within the app before it takes effect.
